We were driving into the city (San Francisco) one day and saw a billboard with a face of an adorable baby which caught our attention. Since starting BUNSO, anything with a baby's face gets our attention.
Turns out the billboard was from the Black Infant Health Program, a program we'd never heard of. A quick online search informed us that it's a state funded program in most counties, including our own.
The minute we found out the program helps under privileged and minority families, we knew we needed to reach out and see how we can help. Their mission to uplift and empower Black mothers with education, access to resources, and community aligned perfectly with our own values.
A few emails later, we were able to contact the Alameda County branch and Santa Clara County BIH (Black Infant Health) programs and they were delighted that there was someone who was willing to donate new diaper bags.
When we donated to the Black Infant Health Program in Santa Clara County, we connected with Tonya and got to meet the team and made a few more donations.
