One of the most common messages we receive from moms sounds like this:
"I regret buying an expensive diaper bag."
And honestly? Sophie's experience is something we hear over and over again.
Many parents invest in a $200+ designer diaper bag, only to realize later that:
❎ It's too heavy, even when empty
❎ It's hard to organize
❎ It's not practical for everyday parenting
❎ And worst of all, it's hard to clean
By the time they figure this out, the money's already been spent.
If you're reading this and nodding your head (or looking guiltily at the heavy leather bag in your nursery), please know this: It's not your fault.
As first-time parents, we are bombarded with a specific message: "If you love your baby, you buy the best." And often, "the best" is marketed as the most expensive.
We buy the $200 bag not because we want to show off, but because we are anxious. We think the high price tag guarantees we are prepared.
We think, "If I buy this expensive bag, maybe it will look like, I have it all together and it'll make motherhood easier."
It's a totally normal feeling. But as Sophie found out, a higher price tag doesn't always mean a lighter load.
